On June 2nd a dynamic group of people gathered together to rejuvenate the landscaping at Yale Elementary. The project included renovating and updating the landscape, installing outdoor classroom seating, upgrading the irrigation system and planting trees and flowers. This project will not only enhanced Yale Elementary for students but also brings the community together and gives Aurora Public School students and staff a chance to have ownership in their school.
Over 75 Children's Hospital project volunteers joined Aurora Public Schools to help make this project a success. The project successfully completed it's 11th year resulting in over $1.4 million dollars of work completed in that time and a positive impact on student achievement for more than 33,000 students. Aurora Public Schools is extremely grateful for all the volunteers hard work and donations from partnering vendors receiving over $37,000 for the 2017 Yale project. Thank you to everyone who made this project a huge success.
